8 Things You Must Know

Below are eight things you must know before having your vehicle repaired:

  • According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, car ownership and maintenance typically accounts for 15% of a household’s budget. Since a vehicle is such a large investment, it is crucial that your car is repaired by professionals.
  • Do not operate a vehicle if you are unsure of whether it is safe to drive. Hidden damage could put you at risk and increase the likelihood of further damage.
  • Depending on your insurance company, some may request that you take your vehicle to a drive-in claims center. If you wish to, this is most certainly an option. However, you can also take your vehicle to our shop and request that the insurance company inspect the car at our facility.
  • By law, it is not required that you get more than one estimate.
  • You are entitled to go to the collision shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot force you to have your vehicle repaired at one place versus another.
  • Price differences on estimates are not abnormal. Just because an estimate has a lower quoted price does not mean that it will cover everything needed to satisfactorily complete the repair. If you are ever in doubt and have a question, simply call us and we will be glad to assist you.
  • Make sure that the body shop you choose has unibody repair equipment and certified ASE and I-Car Platinum technicians.
  • Choose an experienced shop that you trust to help you negotiate your claim with the insurance company.
